The IRIS interactive maps provide information on infrastructure and resources in the State. They have been arranged in a series of themes as listed below.
The IRIS maps are in SVG format (Scalable Vector Graphics) and for Internet Explorer, require an SVG Viewer which is available from the Adobe site*. The maps work natively in Firefox 2.0 and Opera browsers.
Each map will open in a new window (approximately 920 x 620 in size).
Tasmanian maps searchable by address, property ID, Land Parcel Identifiers, places and coordinates are available from the LISTmap web site.
Transport - Base map including road, rail, ports (sea and air), high productivity vehicle routes and higher mass limit routes
Energy - Base map including Basslink, power stations, transmission lines, gas offtake positions, gas rollout zones and coal
Water - Base map including waste, irrigation schemes, water usage by major companies, catchments and water authorities
Waste - Base map including waste transfer stations, landfill sites and transport infrastructure
Forestry - Base map including timber manufacturing and processing sites, reserves, State forest, plantations and regional capacity information
Mining - Base map including mineral deposits by commodity, mining leases and strategic prospectivity zones in Tasmania
Agriculture - Base map including rainfall contours, prime agricultural land, public land classifications and agricultural statistics
Demographics - Base map including population totals, population by age class, dwelling type per household, vehicle ownership and method of travel to work
Economy - Base map including Local Government Areas (LGAs), household income by LGA, industry by LGA, occupations by LGA, highest qualifications by LGA and major investment projects
Planning - Base map including planning schemes, planning zones and population by LGA
Tourism - Base map including tourism projects, visitor travel patterns, touring routes and roads, opportunities, airports and ports
Science and Technology - Base map showing Tasmanian science and technology businesses by industry, rail, roads, ports (sea and air), high productivity vehicle routes and higher mass limit routes

The maps are sized at approximately 920 x 620 to fit all the information in and therefore do not work well on an 800 x 600 screen, please adjust your settings accordingly until the maps function optimally.
