Maps – Energy

The supply of electrical energy to Tasmania is still provided mainly by Hydro Tasmania. However, in 2006-07 there was more diversity on the supply side as other sources of generation made significant contribution to the total demand, in particular imports via Basslink and increased output from Bell Bay Power Station. The trend to more diversity in the generation mix will continue as new capacity in the form of gas-fired thermal and wind power is brought on line.
