A number of significant energy projects are in progress at any one time.

Demand for electricity continues to grow. To meet the requirements of Tasmania's expanding economy, in recent years Transend has invested in network enhancement projects. The largest of these is the Waddamana-Lindisfarne project.

This project, valued at $130 million, involves major redevelopments at Transend's existing substations at Waddamana and Lindisfarne and the construction of a new, 100-kilometre long transmission line. The project will add a second 22 kV supply point for Hobart and southern Tasmania, providing a reliable and secure transmission service.
