A number of significant energy projects are in progress at any one time.
Demand for electricity continues to grow. To meet the requirements of Tasmania's expanding economy, in recent years Transend has invested in network enhancement projects. The largest of these, valued at more than $100 million, is the Waddamana-Risdon Vale 220kV transmission line. This involves replacement of an existing transmission line with a new, higher capacity line intended to improve the power supply to Hobart and Southern Tasmania.
