The Infrastructure and Resource Information Service (IRIS) has been developed by the Tasmanian Government to provide information and tools to help investors, developers and planners understand the scope and capabilities of Tasmania’s infrastructure and resources.
IRIS provides users with a single access point to information about Tasmania's infrastructure and resources.
The following tips may assist you with navigating the site:
IRIS logo - Clicking on the IRIS logo will return you to the Home Page from anywhere in the IRIS website. The Home Page lists the main subject areas in IRIS. Simply click on your area of interest to link directly to a page on that subject.
Search - Click inside the Search box and type in word/s relating to your subject search.
Menu - The navigational menu shows both the main subject headings in IRIS and the subtopics for the selected subject. Simply click on your area of interest to go straight to a brief overview. On each subject page, you will find more links to any relevant resources.
Maps - IRIS contains themed maps of Tasmania. The IRIS maps are in SVG format (Scalable Vector Graphics) and require an SVG Viewer which is available from the Adobe site*.
Each map will open in a new window.
*System Requirements for Adobe SVG Viewer:
The maps are sized at approximately 920 x 620 to fit all the information in and therefore do not work well on an 800 x 600 screen, please adjust your settings accordingly until the maps function optimally.
