Austal Tasmania is located in Margate, 18 kilometres south of Hobart, and was purchased by Austal in February 2007. The shipyard comes with a history of high quality aluminium ship construction.
The facility has a workforce of approximately 100 people.
The 50,000 square metres of land consists of a 70 x 50 metre building shed, a 30 x 30 metre fitout shed, a commissioning berth of 70 metres, as well as a 600 tonne slipway.
