The Infrastructure and Resource Information Service (IRIS) has been developed by the Tasmanian Government 
to provide information and tools to help investors, developers and planners understand the scope and capabilities of Tasmania’s infrastructure and resources.
The aim of IRIS is to provide a common information base and tools to gain an understanding of:
- Infrastructure and related services;
- Resource and related industry;
- Population/demographics and major industrial activity;
- Information about starting a business;
- Major Tasmanian companies; and
- Processes and approvals required for planning and development in the State.
A range of themed maps are also available displaying the above information in more detail.
